Blue Jay Tuesday - Stephen Laffin, Men's Basketball

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Department of Athletics is continuing its fun new weekly initiative called Blue Jay Tuesday, which will feature a different USJ student-athlete answering a series of 10 questions every Tuesday to help fans better get to know the Blue Jays. Last week, USJ featured Olivia Norton in the fifth release, a senior on the women's soccer team. Debuting in the sixth installment of Blue Jay Tuesday is senior Stephen Laffin (West Hartford, Conn.) from the USJ men's basketball team.

10 Things To Know About Steve

1) What is your favorite food? - Steak.

2) Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?  - Kobe Bryant. I really like how he approached the game and life in general.

3) What is the most memorable moment of your men's basketball career at USJ? - Winning the GNAC Championship this year and going to the NCAA Tournament.

4) What was the best Christmas present you have ever received? Why? - A trip to Disney World. My whole family was able to go and we were able to make it to all of the different parks.

5) What are you currently watching on Netflix? - Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO.

6) What is the best part of being a member of the USJ men's basketball team? - The best parts of being a member of the USJ basketball team are the friendships I've made, being a part of of the USJ basketball family, and learning from Coach Calhoun, Coach Miller, and the rest of the coaching staff.

7) What's the one song we would always find on your pre-game playlist? - I don't know if there is one particular song, but Sam Majek always plays a little guitar before games. That usually gets us ready to go!

8) Why did you choose USJ? - To study Business and continue playing basketball under a great coaching staff.

9) What is your favorite Coach Calhoun quote/saying? - Wow, there are so many. "Try to win every day" is one that Coach says often and sticks out the most.

10) What are your plans after USJ? - I plan on attending UConn to get a graduate degree in Sport Management.
