2013 GNAC Softball Tournament Bracket Released

BOSTON, Mass. – Following the completion of Monday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball contests, the 2013 GNAC Softball tournament bracket is now available.

The University of Saint Joseph finished in third place and will host #6 Simmons College, Wed. April 24 at 4 p.m. in a quarterfinal game. The Blue Jays set a single-season school record for wins and finished the regular season 30-10 overall and 186 in the GNAC. Simmons was 22-12 overall and 15-9 in conference play.

In Wenesday’s other games: No. 8 Suffolk is at No. 1 Norwich (4 p.m.); No. 7 Rivier is at No. 2 Emerson (8 p.m.) and No. 5 Johnson & Wales is at No. 4 St. Joseph’s of Maine.

First round games will be played with a single elimination format. Wednesday’s four winners advance to a double-elimination round Friday through Sunday at the site of the highest remaining seed.

The winner of the GNAC tournament will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III national championship tournament.
