BRISTOL, R.I. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team continued its strong start to the 2021-22 season with an impressive third-place overall finish at the Roger Williams University Invitational Saturday afternoon.
USJ placed third of four schools, just 13 points behind second place. Roger Williams claimed the overall victory with 314 points. The Blue Jays were led by none other than senior captain Jacob Wyse (Broad Brook, Conn.), who took home a pair of top-five finishes in the 200 Yard IM (2:10), and the 100 Backstroke (1:06.74), in addition to his work in the relays. Senior captain Brendan Lynch (Watertown, Conn.) also had a strong performance in several events, including a sixth-placed swim in the 50 Freestyle, one of three top-10 finishes on the day for Lynch.
The Blue Jays will look to continue their momentum at home on Friday, October 22 at 5:00 p.m. in the annual Blue Jay Pentathlon, held on the campus of USJ inside the Bruyette Natatorium.
