Wyse Back To Winning Ways In Annual Blue Jay Pentathlon

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team was on-point in its return to the home pool Friday night, as senior captain Jacob Wyse (Broad Brook, Conn.) claimed the victory on the men's side of the annual Blue Jay Pentathlon, held inside the Bruyette Natatorium, on the campus of USJ.

The Blue Jays, along with the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU) took part in an individual-based set of events, where the best combined time over five 100-yard events would be declared the winner. Wyse, who knows a thing or two about winning, has now won this event three years running. His total time of 5:03.78 was nearly 30 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Wyse won four 100-yard events in all, including backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and IM. Junior Maksym Ugrak (Newington, Conn.) finished runner-up on the men's side, highlighted by a podium swim in the 100 Breaststroke.
