SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. — Behind a well-balanced offense and stingy defense, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's basketball team picked up a non-conference victory over Mount Holyoke College (MHC), 56-44, on the road Saturday afternoon inside Howard Gymnasium.
Sophomore forward Cheyenne-Mone Smith (Wethersfield, Conn.) provided another solid all-around performance for the Blue Jays, leading USJ in the win with a team-high 15 points on 7-of-16 shooting to go with six rebounds and five steals. Freshman Abygale Flores (Newington, Conn.) was also sensational in the win, finishing with eight points and a career-high eight rebounds, while sophomore Silvana Barcomb (Middletown, Conn.) chipped in with eight points and three boards.

The victory over the Lyons marked the final game on the calendar for USJ in 2019. The Blue Jays will look to keep the momentum going as we flip to 2020 and they return to the hardwood in a non-conference road matchup with Northern Vermont-Lyndon on Saturday, January 4 at 2:00 p.m. in Lyndonville, Vt.
