Masayda Named GNAC Women's Swimmer of the Week

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Junior Annmarie Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph swimming & diving team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Corvias Women's Swimmer of the Week, it was announced on Monday afternoon in a release by the league's front office.

Masayda helped lead the Blue Jays to their first-ever win over Plymouth State (134-128) in program history on the road on Friday afternoon by posting a team-best three individual victories at the meet. She won every individual event she competed in, touching the wall ahead of the competition in the 1,000 free (13:21.40), 50 breast (35.43), and 100 breast (1:17.15) to power USJ to victory and keep them undefeated (3-0) in dual meets on the season.

Masayda and the rest of the USJ swimming & diving team will look to keep their unblemished dual meet mark intact when they return back to the pool next on Tuesday evening at intrastate rival Eastern Connecticut State at 6 p.m.
