WESTON, Mass. - Junior Gabriella Alberino (East Haven, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph women's swimming and diving team was named to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (NEISDA) 2017-18 All-Sportsmanship Team, it was announced via a release by the association on Tuesday afternoon.
Alberino, who was the Blue Jays' top performer at the 2018 NEISDA Championships in February, was selected to represent USJ on the NEISDA All-Sportsmanship Team which was composed of 21 women and 13 men who take pride in the sportsmanship behaviors of being a student-athlete both in the pool and in the campus community. At the NEISDA Championships, she finished the weekend collecting a team-high 45 points to help the Blue Jays to a program-best 282 points and 13th place finish out of 20 teams. She also rebroke her 100-yard IM school record and was a member of the record-breaking 400-yard medley relay team on the weekend.
