WESTON, Mass. – Sophomore Brielle Bergeron (Easthampton, Mass.) has been voted as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Women's Diver of the Week for the seventh week of the 2019-2020 season, announced Wednesday by the association.
Bergeron was recognized for her critical contributions in a 139-135 dual meet win over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe, Colby-Sawyer on November 23. She received her first NEISDA qualifying score of 200.95, and took first place in both one-meter diving events. Bergeron also scored a fourth place finish in the 50 Yard Backstroke (2 points), and was a member of the 4 X 100 Yard Freestyle Relay. She scored 22 points overall.
This is the second career NEISDA nod for Bergeron, who earned diver of the week honors in week three of last season. She also was a member of the NEISDA Fall All-Academic Team as a freshman.
The Blue Jays will be back in action next on Saturday, December 7, when they compete in the Connecticut Cup, hosted by Wesleyan University at 10:00 a.m. in Middletown, Conn.
