COACH QUOTE [Brenda Straker]
"It was so refreshing to see our team on the blocks, it was exciting to race after 20 months away from serious Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition. We had some fantastic races that went our way, but we realize there is still a lot of work to be done going forward to keep the momentum going as we try to hit personal bests."

KEY MOMENTS

  • Senior captain Shelby Cios (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was engaged and highly effective in the water for USJ Saturday, claiming a pair of fourth-place finishes in the 50 and 100 Yard Breaststroke events. The 50 Breaststroke clocked in at 36.15 seconds, a second and a half off a podium finish. She was also fourth of nine in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Freshman Ella Warner (Ptuney, Vt.) turned some heads in her collegiate debut, capturing a win in the one-meter diving with a 162.4 overall score, just ahead of her teammate and senior diving captain, Brielle Bergeron (Easthampton, Mass.) [Pictured]. She was also runner-up in the second round of one meter diving at 219.45 points, just shy of the win at 233.40.
