Tennis Drops GNAC Opener

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The University of Saint Joseph tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision Saturday to Simmons in a GNAC match at Saint Joseph. 

Simmons improved to 3-1 overall and Saint Joseph dropped to 1-3. Both teams were playing their first conference match. 

The Blue Jays won 11 games on the day, six by sophomore Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) who dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to Simmons' Rachel Sweeney at No. 2 singles. 

Saint Joseph next plays at Emmanuel, Tue. Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. and is home Thur. Sept. 20 against Western Conn. at 4 p.m.
