Volleyball Downed by Emmanuel in Three

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph volleyball team concluded its Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular season schedule with a three-set loss at Emmanuel Tuesday night.

USJ is 11-15 overall and finished 3-8 in GNAC play. Emmanuel improved to 10-14 and 8-2. Scores by set were 25-12, 25-14, 25-9.

Seven of the eight playoff teams that will qualify for the GNAC Tournament have been determined and the Blue Jays retain a slight chance to be the eighth team. USJ would need Mount Ida (presently 2-7 in conference play) to lose both matches in a tri-match Friday at Anna Maria, against Anna Maria (5-4) and Norwich (0-9).

Tiffany Mapusaga (Waianae, Haw.) had six kills and 11 digs for USJ and Emily Vigue (Lebanon, Conn.) had four kills and six digs. Kara Klimaszewski (Naugatuck, Conn.) had 13 assists.

USJ concludes regular-season play, Sat. Oct. 31 in a non-conference tri-match against Eastern Nazarene (1 p.m.) and host Endicott (3 p.m.)
