Jordan, Tompkins Run PR's at New England Regionals

GORHAM, Maine - Two members of the University of Saint Joseph cross country team, senior Jessica Jordan (Wallingford, Conn.) and junior Mia Tompkins (Meriden, Conn.), competed amid frigid temperatures this past Saturday at the NCAA DIII New England Regional Championships and each crossed the finish line with new personal-best 6K times for their respective careers. The meet was hosted by Southern Maine at Gorham Country Club and featured 393 competitors.

Tompkins crossed the finish line first for the Blue Jays finishing in the top half of the field with a 128th place result. She completed the course with a time of 23:43.2, which marked a personal-best time at that distance by 21 seconds. Jordan shaved an impressive 1:21 off her collegiate-best 6K time crossing the finish line at the 28:41.3 mark and recorded a 349th place individual finish to round out the runners at the meet for the Blue Jays.

The New England Regional Championships concludes the 2017 season for the USJ cross country team.
