Tennis Team Earns First Victory

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Saint Joseph College earned its first tennis victory of the season, defeating Mitchell Tuesday, 7-2 at Saint Joseph.

Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) and Emely Chenard (Meriden, Conn.) both were part of earning two points for the Blue Jays. Wawrzynowski won at No. 2 singles, Chenard at No. 4 singles and they teamed to win at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Kameshia Cooper (Beacon, N.Y.) won at No. 3, April Loteczka won at No. 5 and Delina Andrews (Thomaston, Conn.) won at No. 6 for the Blue Jays. The No. 1 doubles team of Cooper and Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) also won.

Saint Joseph is at Bay Path Wed. Sept. 14 and plays home Thur. Sept. 15 against Western Conn. at 4 p.m.
