Toth Keys Tennis Win
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Kameshia Cooper (Beacon, N.Y.) earned an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles in the final match of the day as the Saint Joseph College tennis team defeated Western Conn., 5-4 Thursday in a non-league match.
Saint Joseph improved to 3-8 overall; Western is 0-7.
Toth earned a victory at No. 1 singles as well for the Blue Jays. She defeated Maxx Zimmer, 7-6, 6-2, winning a dramatic and pivotal first-set tiebreaker, 7-3. Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) won in straight sets at No. 2 singles for Saint Joseph. The Blue Jays also picked up two wins by default.
Saint Joseph hosts Albertus Magnus Friday at 4 p.m.
