Tennis Battles Bay Path in Narrow Loss

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) and Emely Chenard (Meriden, Conn.) teamed to win at No. 2 doubles and each followed with straight-set singles victories, but Bay Path escaped with a 5-4 victory Wednesday in a non-conference match. 

Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Amanda Willhoft (Manchester, Conn.) teamed to win at No. 1 for the other USJ victory in a close, 8-5 set. 

Brittany Walsh (N. Smithfield, R.I.) was the Bay Path player to win at singles and doubles.

Bay Path improved to 1-1 on the season while Saint Joseph fell to 0-2.

Saint Joseph plays next at Mitchell, Wed. Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
