Tennis Edged by MCLA, 5-4
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph tennis team built a 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles competition, but lost a 5-4 match Tuesday at home to MCLA.
Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) and Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) team to win at first doubles, Amanda Willhoft (Manchester, Conn.) and Lindsay Tracy (Manchester, Conn.) at No. 2 and April Loteczka (Ellington, Conn.) and Serena Sundara (Windsor, Conn.) at No. 3.
Sundara also won at No. 4 singles, but MCLA won the other five singles matches, including three in three sets, to clinch the match.
Saint Joseph is 1-7 overall; MCLA is 1-4.
Saint Joseph is at Anna Maria, Sat. Sept. 29 at noon.
