Tennis Falls to Western New England
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Western New England Saturday in a non-conference match at home.
USJ dropped to 1-3 on the season; WNEU is 3-1.
The Blue Jays came closest to earning a point at No. 5 singles where freshman Monica Palmieri (Bristol, Conn.) dropped a tough 6-3, 6-2 match to Kelly Byrnes. The USJ tandem of Emely Chenard (Meriden, Conn.) and Rebecca Mauri (Meriden, Conn.) won three games at No. 2 doubles.
USJ hosts Western Conn. Monday Sept. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
