Tennis Blanks Mount Ida, 9-0

NEWTON, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph tennis team scored a dominant 9-0 victory over Mount Ida Wednesday in a GNAC match at Mount Ida.

USJ improved to 5-6 overall on the season and 2-3 in the GNAC. Mount Ida is 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the conference. The Blue Jays dropped only two games in singles and two in doubles.

Emma Allen (West Granby, Conn.), Rebecca Mauri (Meriden, Conn.), Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) and Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) were all double-winners on the day earning singles wins at positions one through four and also winning in doubles.

April Loteczka (Elington, Conn.) and Monica Palmieri (Bristol, Conn.) also earned singles wins for the Blue Jays while Lindsay Tracy (Manchester, Conn.) and Julie Ann Robinson (Hamden, Conn.) partnered at No. 3 doubles and each earned their first wins of the season.

For the season, the Blue Jays have now won 51 individual matches while losing 48.
