WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph volleyball team played its final home matches of 2012 hosting a GNAC Tri-match Saturday at the O'Connell Center.
Saint Joseph dropped three-set matches to Simmons (25-16, 25-13, 25-17) and St. Joseph's College of Maine (25-11, 25-14, 25-12).
Ciara Perez (Manchester, Conn.) had nine kills to pace St. Joseph against Simmons (14-11, 5-2 GNAC) and Emily Vigue (Lebanon, Conn.) had six. Megan Williams (Lakeville, Conn.) had 18 assists for the Blue Jays.
Against Saint Joseph's (16-5, 6-3 GNAC), Rebecca DiPinto (Burlington, Conn.) and Amanda Dondero (Mastic, N.Y.) each had a team-high four kills and Liz Tuazon (Mystic, Conn.) had 10 digs.
Saint Joseph finished the day 5-17 overall and 1-8 in conference play. The Blue Jays play their final seven matches of the season on the road, beginning with a 7 p.m. match at Emerson, Wed. Oct. 17.
