Braeden Laframboise Named Finalist for Men's GNAC Athlete of the Year Award

WINTHROP, Mass. - Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross country team has been named a finalist for the 2024-25 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athlete of the Year award for men's sports, the league office announced Wednesday, July 2. Laframboise is one of just eight male student-athletes from across the GNAC selected as finalists for this prestigious honor.

Modeled after the NCAA Woman of the Year program, the GNAC Athlete of the Year award recognizes graduating student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in academics, athletics, service, and leadership throughout their collegiate careers. The winner will be announced Wednesday, July 16, and will be submitted as the conference nominee for the Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) Men's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year.

Laframboise graduated from USJ with a 3.27 GPA, earning his degree in Nursing and a place on this year's GNAC All-Academic Team. A three-time First Team All-GNAC selection, he also holds USJ school records in both the 5K and 8K.

In the community, Laframboise gave back through service, including volunteering at the Hands On Hartford food kitchen.
