USJ Athletics to Host National Girls & Women in Sports Day Event on February 7

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Department of Athletics is excited to announce it will host National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) on Saturday, February 7, inside the O'Connell Center on the USJ campus in West Hartford, Conn.

The Blue Jays look forward to welcoming girls ages 7–12 for a free clinic, where participants will be introduced to each sport offered by the University through instruction from USJ coaches and student-athletes. To register, please complete and submit one registration form and one informed consent/waiver form per participant (if multiple participants from the same household plan to attend) via the links below.

Powered by the Women's Sports Foundation (WSF), National Girls & Women in Sports Day honors the achievements of girls and women in sports and continues to Lead Her Forward by recognizing the power of sport to unlock limitless potential. NGWSD celebrates student-athletes, champion athletes, coaches, administrators, and lawmakers committed to providing equitable access to sports for all girls and women.

Check-in for the event begins at 10:00 a.m., with activities running from 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Parents and guardians are welcome to remain on-site and may observe from the indoor walking track located above the Auxiliary Gymnasium.

A free lunch (pizza and drinks) will be provided for participants from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., after which all participants are invited to attend the USJ women's and men's basketball doubleheader inside the James A. Calhoun Gymnasium. Registered participants will receive free admission to the doubleheader, along with one complimentary ticket for an accompanying adult.
