Feldrappe, Omar Named February HHC Athletes of the Month

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Department of Athletics has announced the Hartford HealthCare Athletes of the Month for February, the sixth full month of the 2025-26 season. These student-athletes excelled during a highly competitive slate of contests, standing out with their individual performances. The award is presented to one male and one female student-athlete across all sports at the conclusion of each calendar month on behalf of USJ Athletics and Hartford HealthCare.

Friedrich Feldrappe (Men's Basketball) - Feldrappe, a senior forward from Berlin, Germany, had a stellar February, posting 14.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and a team-best 22 total assists across seven games. Feldrappe opened the month with a nine-point, 10-rebound, four-assist outing during the team's win against Albertus Magnus (Feb. 3). He followed with a dominant 20-point performance against Colby-Sawyer (Feb. 7), before tallying 11 points and six rebounds during a road victory at Norwich (Feb. 14). Feldrappe continued his strong February by scoring 15 points and hauling in nine rebounds during a home victory against New England College (Feb. 17). The senior forward then scored 21 points on the road at Saint Joseph's College (Feb. 21), before concluding the month with a 17-point, nine-rebound outing at home against Albertus Magnus in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Semifinals (Feb. 27). The honor marks the second Hartford HealthCare Athlete of the Month award of his career.

Sara Omar (Women's Swimming & Diving) - A freshman from Simsbury, Conn., Omar had a stellar GNAC Championship meet for the Blue Jays, breaking three records en route to seven medals. Omar opened the weekend by taking home the bronze medal as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team, before shattering the school record in the 400-yard IM, winning the silver medal after posting a time of 4:54.47. The freshman continued her stellar opening day by breaking her second program record, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle after touching the wall in 11:13.85. Omar rounded out the first night by winning the bronze medal as a member of the 400-yard free relay. She carried her success into night two, claiming her second gold medal after recording a time of 5:29.52 in the 500-yard free, breaking the program record. Omar continued to be a valuable member of the Blue Jays' relays, claiming the silver medal as part of the 800-yard free relay. Omar concluded her record-breaking GNAC Championships in the 200-yard IM, claiming the silver medal after setting a new freshman record of 2:20.40. The honor marks Omar's first career Hartford HealthCare Athlete of the Month award.
