Five From Baseball Earn All-Conference Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - Five members of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) baseball team received All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) accolades, it was announced Tuesday afternoon by the league's front office. Graduate student Luke Fox (West Hartford, Conn.) and junior Ryan Shaw (Ellington, Conn.) earned a spot on the All-GNAC Second Team at relief pitcher and first base, respectively, while sophomore Dom Scalia (Northford, Conn.) was tabbed to the All-GNAC Third Team at third base. Additionally, Scalia and freshmen Tyler Carlstrom (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Ethan Slowik (Greenville, N.Y.) were selected to the GNAC All-Rookie Team. Sophomore Justin Baker (Killingly, Conn.) was picked to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team. The awards are voted upon by the league's 13 head coaches following the regular season and do not take postseason play into account.
