Scalia Earns National Recognition, Named to D3baseball.com Team of the Week
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – After earning his first career Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week honor on Monday, senior outfielder Dom Scalia (Northford, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) baseball team garnered national recognition, as he was selected to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Wednesday morning. The selection marks the first D3baseball.com Team of the Week honor in USJ baseball program history.
Now in its 15th season, the Team of the Week serves as D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, recognizing the top performances at each of the nine positions across Division III baseball from the previous week.
Scalia put together an impressive week across two games, highlighted by a walk‑off solo home run, as the Blue Jays went 2–0 to extend their winning streak to four to open the 2026 season. The senior finished the week 4-for-6 (.667) at the plate with a .750 on-base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage.

The Blue Jays return to action on Thursday, March 12, facing UMass Boston in a non-conference matchup at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla. First pitch between the Blue Jays and Beacons is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
