Field Hockey Announces 2026 Schedule
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) field hockey team and sixth-year head coach Karen Nell have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2026 season. Highlighting the Blue Jays' 17-game regular-season slate are nine home games which are set to be played on the USJ Field Hockey Field on the campus of USJ.
FULL 2026 FIELD HOCKEY SCHEDULE
The Blue Jays open the 2026 season on Tuesday, Sept. 1, with a road matchup against Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., before making their home debut three days later against Husson University on Friday, Sept. 4. USJ continues a four-game homestand by hosting Mount Holyoke College on Tuesday, Sept. 8, the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday, Sept. 12, and Manhattanville University on Monday, Sept. 14.
Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play begins on Saturday, Sept. 19, when the Blue Jays welcome Regis College to West Hartford. USJ then steps out of conference play for a road contest at intrastate foe Eastern Connecticut State University in Mansfield, Conn., on Tuesday, Sept. 22, before returning to GNAC action with a trip to New England College in Henniker, N.H., on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Blue Jays close out the month at home on Wednesday, Sept. 30, hosting Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
USJ opens October with a conference road contest at Lasell University in Newton, Mass., on Saturday, Oct. 3, before returning home for a GNAC matchup against Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The team then makes the trek to Brighton, Mass., for a matchup against Simmons University on Saturday, Oct. 10, before heading back to West Hartford for a matchup against the reigning GNAC champions Dean College on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The Blue Jays celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they host Elms College in their final home game of the regular season. USJ then wraps up the 2026 slate with three consecutive road contests, beginning with a crosstown matchup at the University of Hartford on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The Blue Jays then travel to UMass Dartmouth for a non-conference matchup on Thursday, Oct. 22, before closing the regular season with a conference showdown at Rivier University on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The top eight teams in the conference standings will qualify for the 2026 GNAC Field Hockey Tournament, which begins with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, Oct. 31. The top four seeds will host quarterfinal contests, while the semifinals are scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 4, and will be hosted by the two highest remaining seeds. The GNAC Championship is slated for Saturday, Nov. 7, with the highest remaining seed serving as host.
