Tanksley Jr. Named GNAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior guard/forward Deivone Tanksley Jr. (Hartford, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference front office on Monday afternoon in its seventh weekly report of the 2025-26 season. It marks the first career GNAC weekly honor for Tanksley Jr. and the first for the USJ men's basketball team this season.
Tanksley Jr. had a stellar performance during the Blue Jays lone game against the United States Coast Guard Academy this past Thursday, posting a 17-point and 14-rebound double-double to lift the team to an 83-59 victory. The double-double marked the third on the season for the senior guard/forward. Tanksley Jr. has excelled in a USJ uniform this season, averaging a career-high 10.1 points per game, while hauling in a team-best 7.1 rebounds per contest.

Tanksley Jr. and the Blue Jays return to the court on Wednesday, December 31 on the road at No. 10 Montclair State. Opening tipoff against the Red Hawks inside the Panzer Athletic Center in Montclair, N.J., is set for 1:00 p.m.
