Bio

Andrew Fink, the inaugural head coach in University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's lacrosse history, enters his eighth season at the helm in 2027. Since the program's first campaign in 2020, Fink has guided the Blue Jays to a 65-43 overall record and postseason appearances in every eligible season (the 2020 season did not feature a conference tournament due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Under his leadership, USJ has captured one Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship, earned one NCAA Tournament appearance, and posted a 38-21 mark in conference play. He has also coached 20 All-GNAC selections, the program's first USA Lacrosse All-American, one GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year, and was named the 2024 GNAC Coach of the Year.

The 2026 season saw the Blue Jays continue their rise as one of the GNAC's premier programs, finishing 14-3 overall and 10-1 in conference play before advancing to the conference semifinals.

The 2024 campaign remains the most successful season in program history. Fink guided USJ to a 17-4 record and the program's first GNAC Championship, defeating Dean College in the title game. The Blue Jays went on to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance, defeating SUNY Poly in the opening round — the first NCAA Tournament win in program history — before falling in the second round to eventual national finalist Salisbury University. Fink was named GNAC Coach of the Year that season, while goalkeeper Trey McCann earned GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors and Ryan Paltauf became the program's first USA Lacrosse All-American with Honorable Mention recognition.

The Blue Jays improved their win total in each of their first five full seasons under Fink, building toward the 2024 championship. USJ also reached the GNAC title game in 2023 and returned to the conference semifinals in both 2025 and 2026.

Fink arrived at USJ in 2018 and held several roles beyond lacrosse, including interim head women's lacrosse coach in the spring of 2019 and head coach of the men's and women's cross country programs beginning that fall.

Before USJ, Fink spent 16 years at Mount Ida College, including 15 seasons as head men's lacrosse coach. Across his collegiate head coaching career, he has compiled a 236-134 overall record entering 2027 and holds the record for most conference victories by a head coach in GNAC men's lacrosse history.

At Mount Ida, Fink led the Mustangs to eight conference championships: six consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) titles from 2004-09 and back-to-back GNAC Championships in 2011 and 2012. His teams reached the NCAA Division III Tournament four times (2007, 2008, 2011, and 2012). He was named NAC Coach of the Year in 2004, 2009, and 2010, and GNAC Coach of the Year in 2011, and was selected Mount Ida College Coach of the Year in 2009, 2011, and 2015.

In 2017, Fink led Mount Ida to a 14-5 record and the program's fifth GNAC Championship Game appearance since joining the conference. His 2007 NAC Championship team — which earned the program's first NCAA Tournament berth — was inducted into the Mount Ida College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.

While in the NAC, Fink compiled a 56-1 regular-season conference record and led Mount Ida to eight consecutive seasons with double-digit wins, including a program-record 15 victories in 2012.

A respected voice in the sport, Fink and his staff have presented at the USA Lacrosse National Convention on topics including team defense, man-down defense, and offensive and defensive systems. With Championship Productions, he has produced several instructional videos, including the best-selling Building a High-Pressure Zone Defense. Fink has owned and operated Xcel Lacrosse since 2005 and has coached internationally, leading teams in the Prague Cup in the Czech Republic as well as events in Amsterdam and Berlin.

Fink played collegiately at the University of Hartford, where he was a four-year varsity player and three-year starting defenseman, graduating in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in communications. During his junior season, the Hawks won the America East Conference regular-season championship.

A graduate of Rocky Hill High School in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, Fink earned all-league and all-state honors in lacrosse.

Fink and his wife, Noelle, reside in Cumberland, Rhode Island, with their daughter, Micah, and sons, Meyer and Malakai.
