A midfielder from Hartford, Conn., Torres guided the Blue Jays to their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship and first ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the five-year history of the program. He was a vital part of the USJ midfield, finishing with 18 points off six goals and six assists, while guiding the team to 10 shutouts. The honor is the third for Torres on the year, after being named to the All-GNAC First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team earlier this year.

The USJ men's soccer team won its first GNAC Championship this past season, taking down second-seeded Johnson & Wales in the Championship game. The Blue Jays then went on to make their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament, falling to Franklin & Marshall in the opening round. The Blue Jays finished the year with a 13-4-3 record, posting a winning record for the fourth consecutive season.
