Men's Swimming & Diving Bests Regis in 2025-26 Season Opener
WESTON, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team opened its 2025-26 season in winning fashion on Saturday, defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Regis College (Regis), 137-118, in a dual meet inside Regis Pool in Weston, Mass.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay - The team of sophomore Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), sophomore Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.), freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.), and sophomore Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.) won the event, combining for a time of 1:46.31.
- 1000 Yard Free - Sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) paced the Blue Jays, finishing second with a time of 12:50.50.
- 200 Yard Free - Hebb took home first place after recording a time of 1:53.62.
- 50 Yard Back - Capen won the event for USJ, touching the wall with a time of 28.12 seconds.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke - Brasky picked up the win for the Blue Jays after posting a time of 29.64 seconds.
- 100 Yard Fly - Januszewski finished the event in second for USJ, clocking in a time of 1:01.41.
- 50 Yard Free - Brasky continued his winning ways, finishing first and touching the wall in 24.14 seconds.
- 100 Yard Free - Freshman Joseph Andino (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished second in the event, recording a time of 57.38 seconds.
- 100 Yard Back - Capen won his second individual event of the day, finishing with a time of 1:01.07.
- 100 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb won the event for USJ, turning in a time of 1:02.45.
- 500 Yard Free - Brasky finished second for USJ with a time of 5:40.32, while Orzolek finished right behind him in third with a time of 6:03.56.
- 50 Yard Fly - Januszewski finished in second for the Blue Jays with a time of 26.58 seconds.
- 100 Yard IM - Hebb won his third event of the day, recording a first-place time of 57.50 seconds.
- 200 Yard Free Relay - The team of freshman Chris Morris (Weatogue, Conn.), Orzolek, freshman Josh Desyr (Stamford, Conn.), and Andino took second, combining for a finishing time of 1:44.58.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays make their 2025-26 home debut on Friday, Oct. 17, hosting the annual Blue Jay Pentathlon. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m. inside Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn.
