Men's Swimming & Diving Sits Second After Second Day of GNAC Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team continued the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships on Saturday, finishing with 137.5 points to sit in second place after the second day of action inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.


TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Freestyle Relay - The team of sophomore Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.), sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.), and freshman Josh Desyr (Stamford, Conn.) finished in second, combining for a time of 1:36.21.
  • 100 Yard Butterfly - Januszewski paced the Blue Jays, finishing in second after recording a time of 55.70 seconds. 
  • 500 Yard Freestyle - Sophomore Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) topped the time sheet for USJ, finishing in fourth place with a time of 5:26.15.
  • 50 Yard Backstroke - Sophomore Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.) finished in second, touching the wall in 26.48 seconds.
  • 50 Yard Freestyle - Brasky finished in a tie for third after posting a time of 23.21 seconds.
  • 200 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb continued his strong performance, finishing in first place with a time of 2:11.23.
  • 100 Yard IM - Hebb finished in third place, tallying a time of 57.45 seconds. 
  • 800 Yard Freestyle Relay - The team of Hebb, Brasky, Januszewski, and Capen finished in second place, combining for a time of 7:39.97.
  • 1 Meter Diving - Freshman Henry Pennell (Bellows Falls, Vt.) put together a strong performance on the diving board, finishing in first place after recording a total score of 294.25.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays conclude the GNAC Championships tomorrow, Sunday, February 9. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass., with finals beginning at roughly 5:00 p.m.
