Laframboise Named GNAC Men's XC Runner Of The Week
WINTHROP, Mass. - Sophomore Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross country team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Runner of the Week, it was announced by the Conference front office on Monday afternoon in its second weekly report of the 2022 season. It marks the third career GNAC weekly honor for Laframboise and the first for the USJ cross country team this season.
Laframboise, who was an All-GNAC First Team honoree after placing fourth overall at the 2021 GNAC Championships, has picked up right where he left off last season to start the 2022 campaign. After crossing the finish line first overall last week at the Emily MacEwen Blue Jay Invitational, he was once again the first to cross the finish line for the Blue Jays this past Saturday and finished 39th out of 97 runners at the Cardinal Invitational in Middletown, Conn. Laframboise toured the 6K course hosted by Wesleyan University at The Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course in 20:48.9, which was equivalent to an average mile pace of 5:35.0 to earn the top-40 result and GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.
It marks the first-ever GNAC Runner of the Week nod for Laframboise in his career. As a freshman last season, he was tabbed the GNAC Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week twice in addition to his All-GNAC First Team performance at the GNAC Championships.
