Laframboise Earns Second GNAC Runner Of The Week Award

WINTHROP, Mass. - Sophomore Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross country team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Runner of the Week for the second time through four weeks of the 2022 season, it was announced by the Conference front office on Monday afternoon in its fourth weekly report of the 2022 campaign. It marks the fourth career GNAC weekly honor for Laframboise and the second for the USJ cross country team this year.

Laframboise continued his torrid start to the 2022 docket and recorded his third first-place finish through the first four meets of the season, winning the Blazer Classic Invitational this past Saturday at Chicopee Memorial State Park in Chicopee, Mass. The sophomore sensation toured the 8K course in 28:46, good for a 5:48 mile pace, to best the field and crossed the finish line 50 seconds ahead of the next closest runner to earn his second GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor of the season.

It marks the second GNAC Runner of the Week nod for Laframboise in his career. As a freshman last season, he was tabbed the GNAC Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week twice in addition to an All-GNAC First Team performance at the GNAC Championships.

Men's cross country takes a week off from competition before it's back in action next on Saturday, October 8 at the Runnin' Monks Invitational hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine at the SJC Cross Country Trail in Standish, Maine. The men's race is slated to get underway beginning at 11:00 a.m.
