Daniel Matthews enters his third season as Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball at USJ in 2021-22.

Matthews is a former Blue Devil, graduating from Central Connecticut State University in 2007, earning a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education. He later received his masters at fellow Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) school Albertus Magnus College in 2010 (Masters in Leadership). 

Matthews joined the coaching ranks straight out of college, working as the Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Bloomfield High School from 2011 to 2014. In 2017, he became the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at BHS. He coached there until starting his career at USJ.

Matthews is a Bloomfield High PE and Health teacher, and currently resides in Windsor, Conn. with his wife and two kids; Gabriella (6) and Andrew (2).
