JWU started the game strong, scoring three unanswered goals to force USJ into calling a timeout down 3-0 at the 12:35 mark. The Blue Jays took full advantage of the timeout, as senior midfield Makenzie Dinger (Hingham, Mass.) used a great solo effort to pull USJ within two, 3-1, with 11:25 on the clock. However, the Wildcats fired back with two more strikes, increasing the lead to four, 5-1, with 4:45 left in the quarter. USJ continued to claw its way back though, as graduate student midfield Ashley Rufo (Pittsfield, Mass.) forced her way towards the net before picking out the corner, while junior attack Lauryn Wilks (Hartford, Conn.) used a free-position goal to pull USJ back within two, 5-3, heading into the second quarter.

The second quarter would be all JWU, as they netted eight goals to take a 13-3 edge entering the halftime break. JWU continued their strong performance in the second half, scoring nine unanswered to hold a 22-3 lead late in the game. Wilks would find the back of the net again in the closing moments, but the deficit proved too much to overcame as the Wildcats took home a 22-4 victory.
