Picard, Krusewski Collect GNAC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors
WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior midfielder Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) and freshman attack Kailey Krusewski (Newington, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's lacrosse team have been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Co-Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office Monday in its eighth weekly report of the 2026 season.
The honor marks the first career GNAC Player of the Week award for Picard, while Krusewski earned her third career GNAC Rookie of the Week recognition and second straight nod. The awards represent the fourth and fifth weekly honors for the USJ women's lacrosse program this season.
Picard powered USJ on both sides of the field during a perfect 2–0 GNAC week, as the Blue Jays extended their winning streak to five games with road victories over Mitchell College on Wednesday and Regis College on Saturday. Picard totaled 16 points on nine goals and seven assists, while also contributing 10 draw controls, nine caused turnovers, and eight ground balls over the two‑game stretch.
She opened the week with five goals, one assist, and four draw controls in a 25–1 triumph at Mitchell. Picard followed that performance with a dominant 10‑point outing against Regis, scoring four goals and adding six assists, while also recording six draw controls, nine caused turnovers, and eight ground balls in a 19–5 victory.
For the week, the Windsor Locks native placed 13 of her 16 shots on goal for an 81.3% shot‑on‑goal rate and converted nine of her 16 attempts for a 56.3% shooting percentage. The senior is currently tied for third in the GNAC in assists this season with 28 through 13 games, while also leading the conference in caused turnovers (48) and ranking third in both draw controls (60) and ground balls (49).
Krusewski totaled 15 points on 10 goals and five assists over the two-game stretch. She opened the week with seven goals and one assist in a 25–1 triumph at Mitchell, before finding the back of the net three times and assisting on four others in a 19–5 victory over Regis.
For the week, the Newington native placed 14 of her 16 shots on goal for an 87.5% shot-on-goal rate and converted 10 attempts for a 62.5% shooting percentage. The rookie currently ranks third among GNAC players in goals this season with 53 through 13 games.

Picard, Krusewski, and the Blue Jays return to action on Tuesday, April 12, hosting Dean College in GNAC action. Opening draw between the Blue Jays and Bulldogs is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the USJ Lacrosse Field in West Hartford, Conn.
