Picard Named GNAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. - Senior midfielder Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's soccer team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon in its second weekly report of the 2025 season. This marks Picard's second career GNAC weekly honor and the first weekly award for the USJ women's soccer team this season.
Picard had a standout week, totaling seven points on three goals and one assist during a 1-1 stretch for the Blue Jays.
She started both matches, including a tough 4-0 setback in non-conference action against Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday (Sept. 3). She then powered the offense in a dominant 6-0 win over New England College on Saturday (Sept. 6) in USJ's GNAC and home opener.
In that victory, Picard recorded a hat trick, scoring in the 25th, 28th, and 53rd minutes, and added an assist in the seventh minute to round out a career-best performance.
