Women's Swimming & Diving Places Sixth at RWU Invitational

BRISTOL, R.I. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team continued the 2023-24 season, competing in the Roger Williams Invitational on Saturday inside the Aquatics Center in Bristol, R.I.. The Blue Jays finished in sixth place, tallying 63 points on the day.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of junior Amy Mamica (Rocky Hill, Conn.), sophomore Angelina Bernardi (Middlebury, Conn.) and freshmen Kaia Michaud (Hamden, Conn.) and Alexia Grech (Burlington, Conn.) finished in sixth-place, posting a time of 2:12.55.
  • 200 Yard Free – Senior Adelina Marcille (Waterford, Conn.) paced the Blue Jays in the event, finishing in 23rd after touching the wall in a time of 2:26.63.
  • 200 Yard IM – Sophomore Julianna Violette (Rocky Hill, Conn.) topped the timing sheet for USJ in the event, finishing in 15th place with a time of 2:37.75.
  • 50 Yard Free – Mamica finished in 12th place to pace USJ, posting a time of 28.28 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Fly – Mamica continued her impressive day, posting a ninth-place finish after touching the wall in a time of 1:11.86.
  • 100 Yard Free – Grech paced USJ in the event, finishing in 24th place after recording a time of 1:05.40.
  • 500 Yard Free – Marcille lead the way for the Blue Jays, posting a 13th place finish after touching the wall in a time of 6:42.76.
  • 200 Yard Free Relay– The team of Marcille, junior Emily Beyer (Prospect, Conn.), freshman Jodie Hammond (Newington, Conn.) and Violette recorded a sixth-place finishing after combining for a time of 2:09.92.
  • 100 Yard Back – Violette paced USJ in the event, finishing in 17th after tallying a time of 1:15.19.
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke – Mamica lead the way for USJ, finishing in 13th after posting a time of 1:22.32.
  • 400 Yard Free Relay – The team of Mamica, Violette, Michaud and Grech finished in fourth-place after posting a time of 4:19.38.
