Women's Swimming & Diving Falls at Home to Norwich Friday Night
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming & diving team dropped a dual-meet against Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foes Norwich University, 167-23, Friday night inside the Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of sophomore Julianna Violette (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and freshmen Isabella Castrillo (Rocky Hill, Conn.), Jodie Hammond (Newington, Conn.) and Brenna Plaziak (East Greenwich, R.I.) finished in third place, combining for a time of 2:23.16.
- 1650 Yard Free – Senior Adelina Marcille (Waterford, Conn.) paced USJ in the event, finishing in fourth after touching the wall in a time of 23:05.60.
- 200 Yard Free – Junior Amy Mamica (Rocky Hill, Conn.) topped the timing sheet for USJ, finishing in third after posting a time of 2:14.89.
- 50 Yard Free– Freshman Kaia Michaud (Hamden, Conn.) finished in second place, touching the wall in a time of 27.43 seconds. Classmate Alexia Grech (Burlington, Conn.) finished closely behind in third in a time of 28.88 seconds.
- 400 Yard IM – Violette was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in second with a time of 5:35.62.
- 1 Meter Diving – Freshman Kira Geiger (Watertown, Conn.) finished in third place in the opening section, tallying 100.10 points. Sophomore Chandler Douglas (North Haven, Conn.) finished in third place in the second section, recording 149.20 points.
- 200 Yard Fly –Hammond was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in third place with a time of 3:20.34.
- 100 Yard Free – Michaud paced USJ in the event, finishing in tie for second after posting a time of 1:04.66.
- 200 Yard Back – Violette topped the timing sheet for USJ, finishing in third with a time of 2:36.51.
- 500 Yard Free – Junior Emily Beyer (Prospect, Conn.) was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing in fourth in a time of 6:46.89.
- 200 Yard Breaststroke – Mamica topped the timing sheet for USJ, finishing in second with a time of 2:58.05.
- 200 Yard Free Relay – The team of Mamica, Grech, sophomore Angelina Bernardi (Middlebury, Conn.) and Michaud finished in second place, combining for a time of 1:59.03.

The Blue Jays take a 13-day hiatus before returning to the pool on Friday, December 1 for the opening day of the Connecticut Cup, hosted by Wesleyan University inside the Webster Family Natatorium in Middletown, Conn.
