Women's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual Meet to Gordon on Saturday
WENHAM, Mass. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team dropped its regular-season finale to Gordon College, 170-81, on Saturday afternoon inside the Bennett Center Natatorium in Wenham, Mass.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 400 Yard Medley Relay - The team of sophomore Alina Niemczyk (Vernon, Conn.), sophomore Charlotte Poltronieri (Enfield, Conn.), freshman Julia Wysocka (Farmington, Conn.), and freshman Sara Omar (Simsbury, Conn.) finished in second, combining for a time of 4:39.32.
- 1,000 Yard Freestyle - Poltronieri paced USJ, finishing in second with a time of 13:14.30.
- 200 Yard Freestyle - Omar won the event for the Blue Jays, recording a first place time of 2:07.31.
- 50 Yard Backstroke - Wysocka finished in second, tallying a time of 32.84 seconds.
- 50 Yard Breaststroke - Senior Julia Violette (Rocky Hill, Conn.) came in second after collecting a time of 39.94 seconds.
- 100 Yard Butterfly - Niemczyk recorded a second place finish after finishing with a time of 1:11.26.
- 50 Yard Freestyle - Sophomore Delaney Towey (West Hartford, Conn.) came in third, touching the wall in 29.89 seconds.
- 100 Yard Freestyle - Poltronieri continued her strong performance, coming in second place with a time of 1:06.59.
- 100 Yard Backstroke - Wysocka finished in second with a time of 1:11.31.
- 200 Yard Breaststroke - Niemczyk recorded a second place finish, posting a time of 2:51.
- 500 Yard Freestyle - Towey paced the Blue Jays, finishing in third with a time of 6:29.05.
- 50 Yard Butterfly - Omar won her second individual event of the day after tallying an impressive time of 29.84 seconds.
- 200 Yard IM - Niemczyk finished in second, posting a time of 2:39.59.
- 200 Yard Freestyle Relay - The team of Omar, Poltronieri, Towey, and Wysocka finished in second, combining for a time of 1:52.59.
