Tennis Sweeps Albertus, 9-0

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Saint Joseph College tennis team won 72 of 75 total games played in singles competition Friday en route to a 9-0 victory over Albertus Magnus in a GNAC match at Saint Joseph College.

The day began with three doubles victories for the Blue Jays. The teams of Meghan Toth and Kameshia Cooper and Lisa Wawrzynowski and Emely Chenard earned decisive wins and Angela Zaffetti and Julie Ann Robinson rallied from a 7-6 deficit to score a dramatic 9-7 win. 

April Loteczka and Delina Andrews earned singles wins as did Toth, Cooper, Wawrzynowski and Chenard. 

Saint Joseph improved to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in the GNAC. Albertus is 0-7. 

The Blue Jays play their final home match of the season, Mon. Oct. 10 against Emmanuel at 3:30 p.m.
