Seniors Play Final Home Match

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Saint Joseph College tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to GNAC rival Emmanuel Monday in the final home match of the 2012 season.

Seniors Kameshia Cooper (Beacon, N.Y.) and Nancy Juca (Torrington, Conn.) played their final match at Saint Joseph. Cooper, a four-year player, earned her 33rd career victory in a doubles match and Juca, who joined the team during the season, played in her first intercollegiate match.

Cooper partnered with Meghan Toth (Naugatuck, Conn.) for a win at No. 1 doubles and Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.) and Emely Chenard (Meriden, Conn.) teamed for a win at No. 2 doubles.

Saint Joseph is 4-9 overall and 1-6 in the GNAC. Emmanuel improved to 9-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference.

Saint Joseph plays at Western Conn., Wed. Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.
