Volleyball Drops 3-1 Match to Bay Path

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Ciara Perez (Manchester, Conn.) had 10 kills, five aces and eight digs, but the University of Saint Joseph volleyball team came up just short against Bay Path in a 3-1 loss.
The first three sets were very competitive. Bay Path took the first, 29-27 before the Blue Jays took the second, 25-16. Bay Path took the lead by winning the pivotal third set 26-24 and closed out the match, 25-14 in the fourth.
Amanda Dondero (Mastic, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Tuazon (Mystic. Conn.) led the defensive effort for the Blue Jays with 10 digs apiece. Samantha Edwon (Beacon Falls, Conn.) made four solo blocks.
Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) had 10 kills and 10 digs for Bay Path.
Bay Path improved to 2-0 and Saint Joseph is 1-3.
Saint Joseph plays Amherst and host Mount Holyoke in a tri-match Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m.
